Transaction / Investment Banking Senior Associate (M&A) | MFM Search LLC
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office role at MFM Search LLC, located in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. MFM Search LLC is an M&A advisory firm that guides clients through the complex process of entering the mergers & acquisitions market. This role is pivotal in collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and discussing sensitive client data to prepare businesses for acquisition. The Senior Associate directly impacts client success by identifying risks, valuing businesses accurately, and effectively managing client expectations throughout the transaction lifecycle.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Execution: Support senior bankers in all stages of M&A deal execution, including data gathering, marketing materials, buyer list development, buyer outreach, data room management, diligence, and transaction closing.
• Origination Support: Assist senior bankers with origination activities such such as pitch presentation preparation, in-depth industry analysis, buyer research, and company strategic positioning.
• Client Engagement: Develop and nurture client relationships through effective communication, ensuring that expectations for both buyers and sellers are consistently met.
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Prepare and routinely update marketing materials, financial statements, and business intelligence reports to highlight client strengths and opportunities, based on comprehensive financial analysis.
• Investment Community Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with private equity funds, family offices, and corporate acquirers, updating marketing materials with current information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a concentration or advanced degree in Finance, Marketing, or Accounting, or an unrelated degree coupled with significant work experience in these fields.
• Experience: Minimum 4-7 years of middle market investment banking experience, preferably from an M&A or leverage finance product team, or an industry coverage team like industrials, business services, consumer, or tech.
• Skills: Proficient in financial modeling and analysis using Excel, with exceptional PowerPoint presentation skills; ability to interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures; strong ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and effectively present information to various groups.
• Bonus: Preferred experience in professional business writing, including business plans and information memorandums; proficiency using modern AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT); ability to obtain a Florida real-estate sales associate license within 90 days of employment.
