The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Superstep Capital, a growth-oriented private equity firm, located in New York City with a hybrid in-office model. Founded in 2022 by experienced operators, Superstep partners with outstanding digital services companies to build premier firms within theme-based subsectors across its San Francisco, Austin, and New York offices. This Associate role is crucial for supporting the firm’s investment process, providing an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility early and contribute to building a growing, entrepreneurial private equity firm committed to long-term success.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Construct and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate potential investments.
• Market Research: Conduct thorough industry, sub-sector, and company-specific research to inform investment decisions.
• Due Diligence Support: Assist in due diligence processes, including coordinating third-party advisors and reviewing key documents.
• Investment Documentation: Draft critical investment presentations, memos, and fundraising materials.
• Transaction Execution: Support deal execution activities, encompassing valuation, structuring, and negotiations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required. This role seeks an investment professional focused on assessing M&A opportunities in digital services.
• Experience: 2-4 years of professional experience in investment banking and/or private equity, specifically with solid M&A transaction execution exposure.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling skills, working knowledge of valuation and deal structures, and excellent communication abilities to convey insights. Intellectual curiosity and interest in technology and/or professional services markets are essential.
• Bonus: An entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with diverse responsibilities in a lean environment, and a proactive approach in ambiguous situations. A team-oriented approach and eagerness to collaborate are highly valued.
