Project Finance Analyst I/II | Truist

The role of Project Finance Analyst I/II is crucial to the firm’s specialized Project Finance division, contributing directly to the origination, structuring, and execution of complex lease, partnership, and loan transactions. This position involves active collaboration with both internal origination and structuring teams, as well as various functional partners, ensuring seamless transaction processing and an optimized client experience. The analyst’s contributions are fundamental to developing new business opportunities and maintaining Truist’s competitive edge in the project finance sector.

• Mission: To assist in the origination, structuring, and execution of Project Finance lease, partnership, and loan transactions with internal and external partners.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Structuring & Execution: Actively engage with Origination and Structuring teams to support new business development initiatives, conduct thorough market analysis, perform essential due diligence, and contribute significantly to the structuring and successful execution of Project Finance transactions.
• Client Communication & Documentation: Prepare and finalize comprehensive client pitch materials, detailed proposals, official term sheets, and critical transaction screening documents, ensuring clarity and accuracy for all client-facing interactions.
• Advanced Financial Modeling: Execute complex pricing runs, develop robust financial models, conduct in-depth return analysis, and perform comparable transaction and relative value analysis to inform strategic decision-making and optimize deal terms.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise effectively with various Functional and Matrix partners, including Credit Risk, Asset Management, Portfolio Management, and Operations, to facilitate the efficient processing of transactions and ensure a superior client experience throughout the deal lifecycle.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution. This foundational education is essential for understanding complex financial concepts and business operations pertinent to the Project Finance domain.
• Experience: Requires some professional work experience obtained after the completion of an undergraduate program. This experience should ideally be related to the financial sector, demonstrating practical application of analytical skills and business acumen.
• Skills: Demonstrated analytical ability coupled with a keen attention to detail is paramount for accurately processing financial data and structuring complex deals. The role demands solid leadership and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and client engagement. Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary for developing clear proposals and presenting analyses. Furthermore, a proven ability to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment is critical for success.
• Bonus: Preferred candidates will have at least one year of specific, related work experience acquired since graduating from an undergraduate program, providing a more robust foundation in project finance or a closely related field.
