Intern | TP ICAP

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at TP ICAP, located in Edison, NJ. TP ICAP Group is the world’s largest interdealer broker, a large organization employing over 5,000 people across more than 60 offices in 27 countries, and was founded in London in 1866. The company connects buyers and sellers in global financial, energy, and commodities markets. This role matters because it offers interns real exposure to a business that sits at the heart of the financial system, directly contributing to TP ICAP’s purpose of improving price discovery, liquidity, and data distribution through responsible solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Observe: Shadow brokers during live trade execution to understand institutional price discovery in interdealer markets.
• Practice: Utilize student Bloomberg terminals to develop proficiency with market data and trading tools.
• Explore: Investigate various firm functions, including operations, compliance, and post-trade services.
• Learn: Gain direct insights from brokers and product specialists while embedded on active trading desks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student with a genuine interest in financial markets, eager to learn and curious about the inner workings of global finance.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is explicitly required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and understand that TP ICAP does not offer visa sponsorship. Relocation to Edison, NJ, if applicable, must be at the candidate’s own cost, as no relocation or housing assistance is provided by TP ICAP.
• Skills: Strong communication abilities, including effectively listening, asking questions, and building professional relationships. Demonstrated collaboration as a team player, organized approach to managing multiple tasks with attention to detail, and comfort with light technical skills. This includes proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, utilizing functions such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Bonus: Adaptability and composure when encountering new situations or under pressure, coupled with a willingness to take initiative within a professional setting.
