Investment Associate | High Country: Private Equity Search
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a premier, privately held multifamily investment firm, located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company has recently doubled in size, now managing over $3 Billion in assets under management (AUM). The platform distinguishes itself by operating with the institutional-scale sophistication expected of a large firm, combined with the agility and responsiveness characteristic of an entrepreneurial shop. It is strongly supported by over $1 Billion in capital sourced from an elite base of more than 400 private investors. This Investment Associate role is pivotal as the firm anticipates significant transaction volume over the next five years, which is expected to create rapid advancement opportunities for high performers. The Associate will play a direct role in both supporting an existing portfolio of approximately 12,000 units and driving aggressive new acquisitions, working closely with leadership to execute complex business plans and long-term wealth creation strategies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Due Diligence: Perform deep-dive due diligence and underwriting for prospective multifamily investments.
• Financial Modeling: Prepare financial modeling to support and guide both acquisition and asset management decisions.
• Process Management: Provide comprehensive support for the acquisition, financing, asset management, and disposition processes.
• Performance Monitoring: Analyze and monitor the financial performance of properties, including benchmarking to budget and collaborating with management in executing business plans.
• Market Analysis: Conduct property, market, and industry analysis to identify inefficiencies in target geographies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or Accounting is required.
• Experience: Candidates must possess 3–5 years of experience in a finance, analytical, or investment capacity, with a specific focus on multifamily real estate.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Excel is essential, including advanced capabilities in discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis and comprehensive real estate modeling.
• Bonus: A strong cultural fit is highly valued, emphasizing a “team-first” mentality and the ability to thrive collaboratively within a small, family-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a “continuous improvement” approach, exhibiting hunger and a proactive desire to constantly optimize systems and find solutions without requiring specific step-by-step instructions. The role requires the ability to travel less than 25% of the time to visit properties as needed.
