The Tone:
This is a full-time role for an Associate with a U.S.-based renewable energy investment firm, operating in a hybrid work model within the U.S. The company focuses on solar and storage, managing a large-scale portfolio of operational and early-stage assets, and partners with developers to modernize infrastructure and accelerate the clean energy transition. This position is critical for driving the firm’s growth by leading the evaluation and execution of new acquisition opportunities and supporting significant project financing efforts, directly contributing to the expansion of clean energy solutions.

• Mission: Lead and manage key aspects of transaction evaluation, including due diligence coordination, financial analysis, and initial investment assessment for acquisition opportunities.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

What You’ll Actually Do
• Asset Evaluation: Evaluate solar and energy storage assets for acquisition by developing detailed financial models, comprehensively assessing potential risks and upsides, and preparing clear investment recommendations for internal review, often in collaboration with cross-functional team members.
• Deal Team Participation: Actively participate in small, agile deal teams focused on acquisitions, contributing to seller discussions, managing complex financial modeling, performing thorough diligence reviews, coordinating effectively with external consultants, and assembling comprehensive materials for investment approval.
• Financing Execution: Assist in the structuring and execution of portfolio-level financing transactions, including both debt and tax equity, by supporting detailed model development, preparing professional investor-facing materials, and contributing significantly to diligence efforts and documentation processes.
• Project Analysis: Partner with the development team to analyze projects at various development stages, creating in-depth financial assessments, identifying critical key considerations, and presenting compelling proposed opportunities for internal evaluation.
• Internal Project Coordination: Serve as a central point of coordination for internally originated projects, working closely with project leads, maintaining and refining comprehensive portfolio-level financial models, diligently overseeing diligence workflows, actively engaging third-party partners, and preparing all necessary investment materials.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate-level professional with at least four years of experience in renewable energy investing, acquisitions, or project finance.
• Experience: Proven ability to build and refine advanced Excel models, manage complex transactions involving multiple stakeholders, and conduct thorough due diligence on assets while reviewing financial models for accuracy.
• Skills: Strong analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and robust problem-solving capabilities are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction across teams, leadership, and external partners; requires a solid understanding of clean energy project development, financing structures, and market dynamics, coupled with self-motivation to take initiative and drive workstreams from concept through execution and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with solar, battery storage, or related clean energy sectors is strongly preferred.
