Bloomberg Intelligence – US Consumer Credit Research Analyst – High Yield | Bloomberg

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Bloomberg, located in New York. Bloomberg Intelligence delivers independent, data-driven research and interactive datasets integrated into the Bloomberg Terminal, helping investment professionals make decisions faster. This role is crucial for providing company, credit, industry, and strategy research across major global markets, offering perspectives on company fundamentals, policy, litigation, and ESG. The insights from this position help trading and investment professionals gain deeper understanding of crucial industries and make informed decisions.

• Team: Part of a Credit Research team within Bloomberg Intelligence, authoring analysis of corporate credit and consumer sector trends.
• Mission: This person delivers high-quality, differentiated research and data curation to help clients understand the fundamentals and relative value of corporate bonds and CDS within the US Consumer sector.
• Tech Stack: Python, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, Bloomberg Terminal

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Actively create Credit research on the US Consumer sector on a regular basis.
• Monitoring: Monitor and interpret major company developments while identifying macro themes and trends affecting the industries.
• Earnings Cycle Management: Manage the earnings cycle, including previews, reviews, and maintaining earnings models fueled by live Bloomberg data.
• Content Publishing: Publish thematic content and collaborative reports within your team and alongside other global analysts and strategists.
• Engagement: Regularly engage with clients, industry and market professionals, investor relations personnel, and senior management at target companies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of finance and accounting.
• Experience: Substantial experience in Credit Research, specializing in the European Consumer sector; experience interpreting financial statements and performing quantitative financial analysis.
• Skills: Excellent oral communication and presentation skills; ability and willingness to integrate frontier technologies, including generative AI and automation, to improve research; self-starter, independent thinker, and collaborative team player; strong organizational skills.
• Bonus: CFA designation and/or MBA degree, and/or graduate educational experience; experience using Python and/or visualization tools (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense); previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal.
