The Tone:
This is an entry-level trainee role at ThinkEquity LLC, located in New York City. ThinkEquity is a leading financial services firm based in NYC, specializing in the investment banking industry. This position offers a significant career development opportunity for individuals with limited experience, playing a crucial part in expanding the firm’s institutional and retail equity sales operations by connecting with investors and facilitating market transactions.

• Team: Institutional and Retail Equity sales department, collaborating with experienced sales brokers
• Mission: This person identifies, qualifies, and engages institutional and accredited investors to market the firm’s equity transactions and facilitate corporate access events.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Investor Identification: Identify and qualify institutional and accredited investors such as mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, and family offices.
• Market Transactions: Actively participate in the sales process to market the firm’s equity transactions, from initial lead generation through to closing deals.
• Roadshow Management: Book and coordinate Deal and Non-deal roadshows for clients, both domestically in the US and internationally.
• Relationship Development: Collaborate with experienced sales brokers to develop and maintain strong relationships within the firm’s existing investor network.
• Event Coordination: Work directly with companies and investors to successfully set up and execute corporate access events.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from an Accredited University, preferably in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Less than 1-3 years of professional experience.
• Skills: Strong communication skills for phone interactions, a strong work ethic, organizational proficiency, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Bonus: FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 certifications are preferred; a positive attitude, self-motivation, and an entrepreneurial spirit are also valued.
