Analyst – Management (Business Development) | PJT Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at PJT Partners, located on-site, supporting a global advisory-focused investment bank. PJT Partners delivers a wide array of strategic advisory, shareholder advisory, restructuring, and private fund advisory and placement services to corporations, financial sponsors, institutional investors, and governments around the world. This role is crucial for supporting the operations, growth, and strategy of the firm’s Strategic Advisory business, directly contributing to the development and implementation of key initiatives. The Analyst will work closely with Firm Management and Strategic Advisory senior leadership in a high-impact, dynamic team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Initiatives: Work closely with Firm Management and Strategic Advisory leadership on strategic and tactical projects, including new business viability, account coverage, and identifying growth opportunities.
• Business Optimization: Drive new business and efficiencies through business partnering, analytical insight, and project management across Strategic Advisory and other firm business areas.
• Reporting and Analysis: Support strategic decision-making through internal and external quantitative and qualitative reporting, business analysis, and the development of firm tools and metrics around business development and strategic initiatives.
• Data Management and AI Support: Collect and track firm data in various systems, including Excel, to support numerous processes and analyses, and assist with strategic initiatives related to Artificial Intelligence.
• Cross-functional Engagement: Partner with various corporate teams such as Technology, Finance, FP&A, HR, Legal, and Compliance, while developing a deep understanding of the Strategic Advisory business, its products, and markets.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree. This role is for individuals with 1-3 years of relevant work, internship, or school project experience, prepared to support operations, growth, and strategy for the Strategic Advisory business.
• Experience: Requires 1-3 years of relevant work, internship, or school project experience. Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and pivot tables, and proficiency in PowerPoint are essential for this role.
• Skills: Possesses strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Exhibits excellent organization, time, and deadline management abilities, crucial for working in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing, along with strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with professionals at all levels.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence business tools is considered an advantage for this position.
