Loss Prevention Specialist Intern 2026 | Amazon
The Tone:
This is a 10-week internship at Amazon, located in a Fulfillment Center, Sort Center, Delivery Station, or other warehouse environment nationwide. Amazon is a large organization dedicated to fulfilling customer orders efficiently, which involves processes like picking, packing, shipping, and delivering goods across its first, second, and last-mile operations. This role is crucial in safeguarding the people, products, equipment, data, and intellectual property within Amazon’s operational facilities, ensuring smooth and secure fulfillment of customer orders and contributing to loss reduction efforts.
The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, nationwide (located in a Fulfillment Center, Sort Center, Delivery Station, or other warehouse environment)
• Pay: $19.08 hourly
• Team: Security and Loss Prevention organization, reporting to the Loss Prevention Manager
• Mission: Support the implementation of standardized, cost-effective security services and protect company assets, people, and data within an assigned facility.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Leadership: Drive Standard Work and Continuous Improvement through an intern project benefiting the team.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure internal controls per Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements related to your area are fulfilled.
• Investigative Support: Assist with investigations of internal and external theft and fraud incidents.
• Access Control Management: Manage access controls within the assigned fulfillment center to reduce the risk of unauthorized data access.
• Best Practice Implementation: Identify, promote, and implement security best practices within a designated facility.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a conferral date between December 2026 and August 2027, working towards a degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Asset Protection, or a related field.
• Experience: Interest in a career in Loss Prevention.
• Skills: Organized and detail-oriented, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to dive deep into data and provide workable business solutions, ability to motivate self and others to meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Experience with physical security systems, investigation techniques, effective oversight of contract security officers, or distribution center loss mitigation techniques; ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment; comfort working in a multi-tasking environment.
