Managing Director, Investment Banking // Healthcare Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) | Portage Point Partners

• Team: Reports directly to the IB Practice Line Leader
• Mission: Establish and expand the Healthcare M&A practice by developing client relationships, leading complex engagements, and ensuring high-quality, impactful deliverables.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Lead execution of all deliverable workflows necessary to consummate transactions for middle market companies undergoing growth, transformation, and transition.
• Drive: Drive business development efforts by selling engagements across a network of senior executives, private equity firms, entrepreneurs, lenders, and lawyers.
• Analyze: Review and analyze client financial statements and projections, perform financial modeling, and conduct accounting due diligence on balance sheet and P&Ls.
• Manage: Create and present high-quality client deliverables, negotiate, document, and assist in the intricate execution of transactions.
• Mentor: Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members, lead internal trainings, share best practices, and support talent acquisition and firm-building initiatives, contributing to a high-performing culture.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program; Executive leadership in Investment Banking with specialized focus and an established book of business in the Healthcare M&A sector.
• Experience: 15 plus years of middle market investment banking experience; Demonstrated ability to develop new business across a network of corporate relationships, private equity sponsors, lawyers, and lenders; Significant experience working with privately held and sponsor-backed businesses.
• Skills: Maintains Series 79, 63 and 24 FINRA license or ability to obtain within 120 days of employment; Commanding knowledge of current market terms and trends; Expertise in project management and client-facing activities, including leading client presentations, business development meetings, developing work plans, planning and execution of work, and supervising teams; Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills; Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams with high attention to detail, responsiveness, and an ownership mindset.
