Analyst | Roofstock
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Roofstock, located remotely from Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa, or Charlotte, NC. Roofstock is the leading end-to-end investment platform for single-family rental homes, with a team of over 750 individuals. This role is crucial for supporting underwriting, portfolio analysis, and business development initiatives across the company’s single-family rental and build-to-rent platform. It offers an early career opportunity to build a solid foundation in real estate investing within a company focused on transforming the rental housing ecosystem.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Support underwriting and financial analysis for new investment opportunities, partnerships, and business development initiatives, including cash flow, yield, IRR, and scenario modeling.
• Opportunity Evaluation: Partner with Business Development and Investment teams to evaluate new opportunities, including builder relationships, portfolio deals, and strategic partnerships.
• Portfolio Performance: Analyze portfolio performance across key metrics such as occupancy, rent growth, expenses, and net operating income.
• Model Development: Build and maintain financial models to support both new opportunities and ongoing portfolio insights.
• Strategic Research: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform growth strategy and assist in preparing investment memos, presentations, and reporting materials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field. This is an early career role focused on building a strong foundation in real estate investing.
• Experience: 2 to 4+ years of experience in real estate, investment banking, consulting, financial planning & analysis, or other analytical roles. Candidates should have demonstrated experience operating in an AI-powered workflow, with exposure to underwriting, valuation, or business case development.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling and Excel skills, combined with an analytical mindset to connect data to business decisions. Requires strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, organizational skills, attention to detail, a proactive approach, and leadership abilities.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to real estate investing (single-family rental, multifamily, or residential sectors) or experience with tools like SQL, Tableau, or Sigma. An interest in business development, partnerships, or growth strategy is also beneficial.
