Senior Vice President, US Co-Investment Lead | Macquarie Group

The Tone:

This role is crucial for enabling the Technology Capital Group to expand its investment reach by securing co-investment capital from US-based limited partners, thereby empowering the team to make a significant impact on future technology leaders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Lead the team’s efforts in raising co-investment capital from US-based limited partners, including existing and new relationships.
• Build: Build and maintain appropriate relationships with limited partners, specifically Registered Investment Advisors, family offices, wealth institutions, and other Qualified Purchasers.
• Drive: Drive US marketing efforts for new investment opportunities, encompassing investor outreach, marketing, negotiation, and execution processes.
• Manage: Manage ongoing post-investment relationships with limited partners and direct the team’s US capital formation strategy.
• Originate: Take greater leadership in deal origination efforts over the longer term.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Qualifications in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or other relevant technical disciplines, with a focus on capital markets or investment domains.
• Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, which ideally includes capital formation, but may also include investment banking, venture or growth investing, or private banking experience. A demonstrated track record of raising co-investment capital is required, along with the ability to obtain appropriate licensing.
• Skills: A network of differentiated capital sources and the ability to influence decision-makers, strong commercial judgment, and excellent communication skills with experience presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Bonus: A strong understanding or interest in the latest technology trends and companies, coupled with a collaborative leadership style and willingness to lead a key function to support the global team.
