Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis | Fordham University
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Fordham University, located in Rose Hill and Lincoln Center (hybrid). This Analyst role supports the University’s core financial operations and strategic planning by creating and maintaining essential financial reports, ensuring leaders have the data needed for informed decision-making.

• Mission: Supports the University’s financial operations and strategy by assisting in developing and maintaining routine financial reports that enable leaders to make data-informed decisions.
• Tech Stack: Banner, TM1, PeopleSoft, SAP, Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Modeling: Support the development of short- and long-range financial models, including the annual operating budget and monthly forecasts.
• Budget Operations: Assist with budget operations, encompassing modifications, journal entries, budget transfers, and variance analyses.
• Treasury Support: Assist with cash management and treasury operations, such as completing wires and managing payment systems.
• Financial Impact Analysis: Build pro forma financial models to analyze the financial impact of strategic scenarios for leadership.
• Data Integrity & Reporting: Ensure the accuracy of financial data across reports and recommend enhancements to forecasting, treasury, and reporting tools.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with a commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in budget planning, financial analysis, or accounting, preferably in higher education or a similarly complex organization.
• Skills: Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, financial systems, and data query tools. Ability to build and analyze models projecting financial impacts, knowledge of cash management processes, liquidity management, and cash flow forecasting. Proficiency in financial software tools and moderate to advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
• Bonus: An MBA or relevant advanced degree. Prior experience with enterprise systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, TM1, or SAP.
