Manager, Corporate Development (M&A) | Oldcastle APG

The Tone:
This is an early career Manager role at Oldcastle APG, a significant part of CRH Americas Building Products, located in Atlanta, GA, offering a hybrid work schedule. CRH Americas Building Products is the leading provider of innovative outdoor living products and utility infrastructure solutions for the water, energy, and communications markets across North America. This role is crucial because strategic acquisitions and other investments have been a key driver of CRH’s growth since its inception. The Manager will actively collaborate with Region Presidents, business unit leaders, and other senior leadership members to support the company’s acquisition strategy and execution, directly contributing to the company’s continued expansion and success.

• Team: Reports directly to the VP of Corporate Development; collaborates extensively with Region Presidents, business unit leaders, senior leadership, and Strategy & Development colleagues across CRH Americas, CRH Group, and CRH Americas Materials.
• Mission: To support and execute the company’s acquisition strategy, driving significant growth through strategic investments and ensuring alignment on key processes and best practices across the CRH Group.

What You’ll Actually Do
• M&A Process Management: Assist comprehensively with the entire acquisition (M&A) process, which includes initial market and business assessments, thorough due diligence, detailed valuation and financial modeling, contract negotiation, and diligent post-closing issue tracking.
• Opportunity Identification: Analyze various market reports and detailed company information to proactively assess and identify potential acquisition opportunities that align with the company’s strategic goals.
• Financial Valuation: Prepare sophisticated and detailed financial models specifically designed to evaluate prospective businesses, providing critical insights for investment decisions.
• Strategic Communications: Draft compelling proposals, impactful presentations, and other essential deliverables intended for senior leadership, supporting strategic acquisitions, investments, and other key initiatives.
• Due Diligence Leadership: Take the lead in coordinating and managing complex due diligence processes, effectively engaging with a diverse range of internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive review.
• Ad-hoc Research: Conduct specific, ad-hoc research assignments for the VP of Corporate Development, the President, and other members of the management team as required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required. This Manager-level role demands foundational knowledge in corporate development, finance, or a related business field.
• Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of relevant professional experience is necessary, with a strong preference for candidates who possess corporate development, consulting, investment banking, or private equity experience.
• Skills: Must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, specifically in strategic thinking, robust financial modeling, and adeptness at assessing business risk; proven ingenuity and tenacity to successfully navigate and close complex deals; strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills; the ability to manage multiple complex work streams simultaneously; excellent presentation and communication skills when interacting with senior leaders; comfort and flexibility to operate effectively in ambiguous environments; and a high degree of learning agility and drive to achieve results.
• Bonus: The ability to travel approximately 25% of the time to support deal execution and other business requirements.
