Analyst | Stockdale Capital Partners LLC

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Stockdale Capital Partners LLC, with placement available in the firm’s West LA, Manhattan, or Dallas office. Stockdale Capital Partners is a highly respected, vertically integrated real estate investment firm, boasting a 30-year history of successful commercial real estate investments across diverse asset classes throughout the U.S. Managing over $3 billion in AUM, the firm currently invests out of its second discretionary opportunity fund and is actively raising capital for an open-ended medical office vehicle and launching new value-add funds in the retail and multifamily sectors. The Analyst will be an integral part of the team, directly supporting senior management in the vital evaluation and execution of strategic acquisitions and developments. This position is essential for advancing the firm’s exciting growth trajectory and requires self-motivated individuals eager to contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed financial models utilizing Excel and Argus for both acquisition and development projects, incorporating a range of scenarios and sensitivity analyses to inform investment decisions.
• Capital Structure Analysis: Assist in negotiations with lenders and investors by conducting thorough analyses of various capital structures and complex cash flow distribution waterfalls.
• Market Research: Perform in-depth research on target markets, comparable properties, and potential development sites, including reviewing offering memorandums, touring properties, and interfacing with brokers.
• Due Diligence Management: Manage the comprehensive due diligence process, which includes analyzing and reviewing market data, financial statements, development budgets, 3rd party reports, and critical legal documentation.
• Presentation Preparation: Prepare clear and compelling presentations and other necessary materials for the investment committee, prospective investors, and lenders to articulate investment strategies and performance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess an excellent undergraduate record, coupled with a basic knowledge of real estate finance, valuation principles, and capital markets.
• Experience: Bring 1-2 years of work experience gained in a transaction-oriented real estate role (such as private equity, acquisitions, development, structured finance, or investment sales) or in an advanced financial capacity (including investment banking, management consulting, or Big 4 accounting).
• Skills: Demonstrate an aptitude for financial modeling, research, and underwriting of investments; exhibit strong critical thinking with resourceful problem-solving skills; possess meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational abilities, alongside thoughtful presentation and communication skills.
• Bonus: Prior experience with Argus is preferred. Ideal candidates will be team players suited to an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture, self-motivated and proactive, with an ability to work independently and a strong desire to continuously learn.
