Director, Finance – FP&A | Hogan & Associates Executive Search

The Tone:
This is a high-impact leadership role at a growing, 20-year-old entrepreneurial fintech company at the forefront of digital payments innovation, with a unique footprint across North America. The Director of FP&A will serve as the financial architect of the business, owning enterprise-wide planning, forecasting, and performance analytics. This role directly influences strategic decision-making, partnering closely with senior leadership to evaluate growth opportunities, optimize pricing and cost structures, and drive capital allocation. Your work will directly shape business outcomes, from pricing strategy to market expansion to M&A evaluation, within a collaborative culture focused on accountability, speed, and growth.

• Team: Reports directly to the CFO (VP of Finance) and supports executive leadership and board-level initiatives.
• Mission: Lead enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, and performance analytics to influence strategic decision-making and drive profitable growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Enterprise Planning & Forecasting: Lead budgeting, long-range planning, and forecasting processes, translating business strategies into actionable financial plans with clear accountability.
• Strategic Analysis & Decision Support: Advise leadership on pricing strategy, margin optimization, investment prioritization, and support M&A modeling, diligence, and integration planning.
• Performance Management & Insights: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, deliver executive reporting, and build frameworks aligning financial and operational performance.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a financial business partner to department leaders, driving accountability and providing analytical support to Sales, Operations, and Product teams.
• Process Optimization & Systems: Enhance FP&A processes, tools, and reporting capabilities for scalability, ensuring data integrity, and leading the evolution of advanced analytics platforms.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with progressive leadership experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis role.
• Experience: 3-5 years of leadership experience in FP&A, including solid knowledge and experience modeling and creating effective tools for managing the FP&A function.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in NetSuite, Excel, Power BI, Access, and mainframe databases, and excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Master’s degree preferred.
