Financial Reporting Analyst I | Service Corporation International
The Tone:

The work ensures accurate reflection and projection of business performance at both summary and detailed levels, providing essential support to all Rose Hills Operation locations and departments.

• Mission: To learn and maintain complex financial reports and operational statistics that accurately reflect and project business performance for the Rose Hills Territory.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Refresh, modify, review, and distribute standard and non-standard financial reports, statistical analysis, and business analytics using SQL Queries and Microsoft Office Excel on a daily, weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis.
• Data Validation: Develop Quality Assurance procedures and gain understanding of system and/or business processes to validate updated data, analysis, and reporting, tying data and results back to the General Ledger or Financial statements prior to distribution.
• Performance Analysis: Research, summarize, and provide conclusions on Financial Results and Business Performance, preparing both written forms and presentations for senior management.
• Financial Planning Support: Assist with the development and maintenance of financial forecasting and budgeting models.
• Operational Partnership: Partner with the Operational Management team to provide additional analysis and identify areas for improvement within business processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional with a preferred Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience: At least one year of preferred Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Financial intern work with an emphasis on quantitative and financial analysis, forecasting, and scenario/sensitivity analysis. Experience building, modifying, maintaining, and reviewing financial models is required, alongside interpreting, explaining, and appropriately applying complex rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to analysis.
• Skills: Cognitive ability to reason, plan, identify problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly, and appropriately apply learning to new situations. Ability to create clear reports and data visualizations to assist others in decision-making and problem analysis. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships across functional groups. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, with advanced application of Excel. Process and results oriented, motivated to keep projects moving ahead.
• Bonus: Preferred updating & modifying SQL querying skills. An in-depth understanding of General Ledger is a plus.
