Analyst/ Associate – Equity Research, Biotech | Bank of America
The Tone:
This is an in-office role at Bank of America, located in New York, NY. Bank of America is a global financial institution that provides a full range of banking, investing, asset management, and other financial and risk management products and services. This role supports a Senior Biotechnology Analyst, performing extensive fundamental research and analysis to contribute to established coverage focusing on AI-enabled drug discovery, gene editing, and oncology, which is critical for informing clients and internal strategy.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Report Writing: Write regular industry and company reports, including company launch initiations, from scratch.
• Financial Modeling: Perform complex financial modeling and valuation work on Biotechnology companies.
• Database Development: Develop and maintain databases integral to the team’s research product.
• Industry Expertise & Relationships: Build strong industry knowledge, develop key industry themes with Senior Analysts, and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies.
• Client & Market Engagement: Participate in client meetings and events, attend meetings with key opinion leaders, and closely follow market, industry, and company-specific activity.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: 1-3 years of work experience, ideally in a non-academic setting such as the biopharma industry, equity research, investment banking, or consulting.
• Skills: Strong writing and spreadsheet skills, expert at MS Word and MS Excel, strong modeling skills, excellent written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and work well in a collaborative team environment.
• Bonus: An advanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA, or CFA) is a distinct advantage.
