The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Career Group Companies, situated in Miami Beach, FL (in-office) or available remotely for candidates in New York, NY. The client is a highly successful investment management firm, boasting over $1B in assets under management. This firm is currently embarking on the launch of a new and innovative private equity strategy, which will be exclusively focused on the legal services sector. This opportunity is particularly rare, as it allows an individual to be an early hire dedicated to building out this specialized strategy from its foundational stages. The selected professional will work directly alongside the firm’s senior leadership, engaging in the critical tasks of evaluating, executing, and diligently managing investments within leading law firms across the U.S.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and thorough underwriting of prospective investment opportunities.
• Complex Modeling: Build and meticulously maintain complex financial models, encompassing valuation, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the General Partner and Investment Committee on investment recommendations and overall portfolio strategy.
• Opportunity Sourcing: Lead comprehensive industry, market, and competitive research to identify attractive investment opportunities and monitor portfolio company performance.
• Transaction Execution: Participate in due diligence, critical management meetings, and the execution of transactions, including preparing necessary investment memoranda.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s degree. This is an Officer-level position, requiring core domain knowledge in private equity and investment management principles.
• Experience: Candidates must possess 5–10 years of professional experience within private equity, broader investment management, or a comparable investing platform. Prior experience gained at a highly regarded private equity firm is strongly preferred for this role.
• Skills: Demonstrated advanced expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment underwriting is essential. A strong understanding of private equity investing processes and transaction execution is also required. Furthermore, excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills are paramount for success.
• Bonus: An MBA or CFA designation is preferred, indicating a commitment to advanced financial knowledge and professional standards.
