Equity Research Associate – Enterprise Software | Needham & Company
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Needham & Company, located in Minneapolis, MN. Needham & Company, LLC is a full-service investment bank with an opening for a Research Associate. This position supports the Senior Analyst in delivering extensive company and industry research, constructing detailed financial models, and marketing research recommendations to clients and institutional salespeople. The Research Associate will contribute directly to the firm’s coverage of the Enterprise Software market.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Market Expertise: Build strong industry knowledge of the Enterprise Software market, including vertical SaaS applications and Healthcare IT.
• Financial Modeling: Develop, maintain, and forecast detailed earnings models, including revenue, income statement, balance sheets, and cash flow.
• Market Analysis: Analyze industry market, economic, and technology trends to inform research and recommendations.
• Research Reporting: Assist the Senior Analyst in writing reports and notes on companies under coverage, related companies, and industry analysis.
• Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with management teams, industry contacts, sales force, traders, and clients.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a high fluency in accounting and financial statement analysis.
• Experience: 1-3 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a preference for Equity Research or Investment Banking experience.
• Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel, highly detail-oriented, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Possession of or willingness to obtain Securities Industry Essentials, Series 63, 7, 86, and 87; progress towards CFA designation; and a passionate interest in equity markets and technology.
