NFL VoF Project Assistant (Internship) | National Research Group

The Tone:
This is a non-exempt, hourly internship at National Research Group, located in New York City with required onsite presence at NFL Headquarters. NRG is a leading global insights and strategy firm that operates at the intersection of content, culture, and technology, providing fresh insights and clarity to clients in entertainment, technology, lifestyle, sports, and gaming. This role is crucial for supporting NRG’s partnership with the NFL, focusing on understanding and enhancing the fan experience across all 32 clubs. The Project Assistant will gain hands-on research experience and networking opportunities, observing directly how insights inform the NFL’s business strategies.

• Mission: To support the NFL team by ensuring quality and accuracy in fan experience research and communications, informing business strategies.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research Support: Support all phases of game attendee and season ticket holder satisfaction surveys for the NFL, including research design, questionnaire development, data analysis, and reporting.
• Quality Control: Support quality control processes at each step of the research lifecycle, such as checking survey programming logic, questionnaire proofing, and reviewing reports for accuracy.
• Project Management: Assist with day-to-day project management, handling ad hoc requests, and managing communications with NFL clubs, internal NFL stakeholders, and analytics teams.
• Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between NFL stakeholders and internal NRG team members to communicate requests to various teams like data processing and dashboard development.
• Presentation Aid: Aid in the development of weekly in-season presentations to NFL clubs and internal stakeholders to review survey results.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate or graduate students actively pursuing a degree in Social Science, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: Prior internship or work experience in market research or consumer insights is a plus. Relevant academic qualitative or quantitative research projects, such as primary survey research or social media analysis, are also valued.
• Skills: Natural problem-solving abilities, strong curiosity and critical thinking to understand the “whys,” a data-driven mindset comfortable with identifying trends and insights, clear and proactive communication skills (written and verbal), and hawk-eyed attention to detail for quality control.
• Bonus: Familiarity with statistical significance testing, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis, regression analysis, conjoint, or discrete choice analysis. Experience with statistical packages like SPSS or Q. An interest in learning about the impact of data on business initiatives in the sports industry.
