Payment Partnership Project Intern (Global Payment) | ByteDance
The Tone:
This is an internship at ByteDance, located in San Jose, CA, with a hybrid work model. The Global Payment team ensures smooth and secure payment experiences across these platforms. This role directly supports the expansion and efficiency of these services by exploring and formalizing payment partnerships, offering a real-world professional experience in a cross-functional environment.
The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Long-term Internship (4 days/week minimum for 6 months)

• Team: Payment Partnership team within Global Payment
• Mission: To support the exploration and formalization of North America and Global payment partnerships, ensuring secure and efficient payment solutions and assisting business and product expansion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Development Assistance: Support the end-to-end lifecycle of payment and ecosystem partner agreements, including drafting, tracking, organizing, and filing contracts; maintain contract databases and renewal schedules; coordinate signature workflows and follow up on outstanding items with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ecosystem Coordination: Assist with follow-ups across internal business lines and external payment channel partners; help prepare meeting materials, action item tracking, and status updates.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, clean, and analyze payment and partnership data; build and maintain dashboards and regular reports to track KPIs, partner performance, and pipeline progress; surface insights to support team decision-making.
• Market Research: Conduct in-depth research on the US payment landscape, including competitive analysis, regulatory environment, and PSP/acquirer benchmarking.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
• Experience: Prior experience in contract management, legal operations, vendor coordination, partnership operations, or business administration is preferred. Experience working with large datasets or building recurring business reports is also preferred.
• Skills: Detail-oriented, highly organized, proficient in data analytics, proactive, reliable.
• Bonus: Experience with data visualization tools.
