2027 Summer Corporate Intern – Finance | Caterpillar Inc.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Multi-currency cash flows for global operations.
• Mitigate: Foreign exchange and commodity risk across the enterprise.
• Execute: Investment strategies for the multi-billion-dollar retirement fund.
• Analyze: The financial strength of suppliers and work to improve worldwide dealer financial results.
• Support: Projects in corporate cash management, employee benefits fund management, corporate funding, accounts receivables, or supplier finance.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related Technology field from a 4-year accredited university, maintaining enrollment throughout the program. Candidates must have completed at least 12 semester hours at a 4-year university prior to the internship’s start.
• Experience: Demonstrate strong academic performance with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA in both Finance coursework and overall cumulative GPA.
• Skills: Possess knowledge of financial markets, including products, competitors, and regulatory considerations; apply financial analysis tools to interpret numerical data; exhibit strong planning and organizing abilities to manage tasks and resources systematically; effectively communicate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences; and apply problem-solving techniques to resolve operational and organizational issues.
• Bonus: Prior finance internship or work experience, completion of junior year finance coursework, strong initiative, effective communication and interpersonal skills, leadership involvement in student associations, and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
