Accountant Assistant Intern | Yami

This is a seasonal, temporary internship at Yami, located in Brea, CA. This Accountant Assistant Intern role is critical for providing essential support to the accounting team by performing key accounting and clerical functions. The intern will ensure compliance with accounting guidelines and gain valuable hands-on experience in practical areas such as invoice processing, vendor reconciliation, and contributing to month-end closing procedures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Perform essential accounting and clerical functions to effectively support the accounting personnel in their daily operations.
• Processing: Verify, reconcile, and process invoices on a daily basis to ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping.
• Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements thoroughly and proactively resolve any identified discrepancies to maintain accurate ledgers.
• Closing Assistance: Assist the accounting team with critical month-end and year-end closing processes, contributing to the timely completion of financial reporting.
• Invoice Matching: Conduct precise three-way invoice matching for accounts payable (AP) transactions to ensure payment accuracy and prevent errors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold or be actively pursuing an Associate of Arts (AA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree specifically in Accounting.
• Experience: Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis, and possess practical experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Fluency in both Mandarin and English is a strict requirement for this role.
• Skills: Exhibit strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Possess a proactive, can-do attitude, and the ability to work effectively and independently. Must be capable of working onsite in the Brea office for 20-40 hours per week.
