UA Gameday Operations Intern | Troon

The Tone:
This is a part-time, seasonal internship for Eventive Sports, a subsidiary of Troon. While Eventive Sports is based in Birmingham, Alabama, this role’s primary operational focus is in-person during game days in Tuscaloosa, AL. Eventive Sports is the industry leader in dedicated sports event management, managing major sporting events and enhancing gameday operations for various universities, including the University of Alabama since 2006. As an intern, you will play a hands-on role in supporting the on-the-ground execution and continuous improvement of UA’s gameday experience, contributing directly to smooth event operations and fan satisfaction. This position offers a direct entry point into sports event management within a globally respected organization like Troon, which specializes in golf, hospitality, and residential communities.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations: Implement event infrastructure by placing signage, cones, and barricades.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze key operational metrics to assess event performance.
• Vendor Management: Work with various vendors to ensure the provision of quality services.
• Fan Experience: Observe the fan experience during events and propose improvement ideas.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possesses a self-motivated, team-oriented, and energetic personality, coupled with a strong interest in sports or a career in the sports industry.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, willingness to perform manual labor with the capacity to lift 40 pounds, and availability to work all 7 UA home games for long hours.
