Customs Trade Coordinator | FedEx Logistics
The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role with a Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM shift at FedEx Logistics. FedEx Logistics is a global organization that provides comprehensive international ocean and air freight forwarding, surface transportation and distribution, customs brokerage, trade and customs advisory services, and advanced e-commerce and trade facilitation solutions. The company helps customers of all sizes navigate the intricacies of shipping goods globally, enabling them to reach markets throughout the world. As a Customs Trade Coordinator, you will be essential in coordinating the crucial documentation required by US Customs and other government agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers, ensuring compliance and smooth operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Service & Collaboration: Provide impeccable customer service to all stakeholders, working closely with other internal staff, various departments, other FedEx operations, and external customers to deliver a high level of service.
• Goods Classification & Documentation: Obtain the correct classification of goods for customs release, utilizing resources such as internal databases, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the tariff book, and the internet or direct contact with customs. Subsequently, perform data entry and processing of various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs.
• Government Agency Filings: Efficiently handle all Participating Government Agencies (PGAs) requirements, process agency brokerage shipments, and may also be responsible for handling remote filings to ensure proper customs clearance.
• Compliance & Record Keeping: Meticulously maintain and keep current all shipment documentation, ensuring full compliance with all record-keeping requirements. This also involves strict adherence to all international importing and exporting regulations, as well as all government and organizational policies.
• Operational Support: Work independently with minimum supervision, handling a high volume of time-sensitive tasks while interacting effectively with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management at all levels, utilizing multiple systems and reference materials.
The Must-Haves
• Background: HS Diploma or GED required; no industry experience is necessary.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months work experience is preferred. A minimum of one year of experience using computer systems in a professional, educational, or comparable environment is required, including the ability to perform routine tasks such as data entry, document creation, navigation of standard software applications, and operation of basic office equipment.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, effective inter-personal skills, and proven problem-solving capabilities. Ability to handle a high volume of time-sensitive work and operate independently with minimum supervision.
• Bonus: Shift is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This is a hybrid role.
