Roll Tender | Pregis
The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role within Pregis, a company dedicated to protecting what matters through innovative packaging solutions. As a Roll Tender, you will play a crucial part in the Mailer Production department by preparing essential materials and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Your efforts directly support production efficiency and contribute to Pregis’ commitment to sustainable growth and operational excellence. We are looking for an individual who communicates respectfully, takes coaching well, and actively promotes a positive teamwork culture.

• Mission: This person maintains essential consumable inventories, prepares make-ready materials, and ensures a clean, safe production environment.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Material Preparation: Gathers and prepares all required make-ready materials, such as mounting plates and glue pads, ensuring they are at the press before production begins.
• Inventory Management: Maintains the inventory of press rollers and cylinders, ensuring new rollers are ready for use and used rollers are processed for timely rework.
• Facility Upkeep: Conducts assigned cleaning projects and ensures solvent, glue, and oil storage areas are maintained in a safe and organized manner.
• Waste Handling: Manages all waste and oil products by safely containing them and ensuring they are properly packaged for pickup.
• Production Support: Assists press crews in obtaining necessary consumables and is responsible for changing glue totes as needed to support continuous operation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience: Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Ability to follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices.
• Skills: Good mathematical skills, ability to take coaching well, and effective, respectful communication with team members and during shift transitions.
• Bonus: Willingness to actively engage in the Pregis apprenticeship program to ensure continuous improvement of self and company.
