Customer Service Representative | U-Haul

This is a vital customer-facing role at U-Haul centers, where you will directly contribute to the company’s mission of providing moving and storage solutions across North America. As a Customer Service Representative, you will serve as the embodiment of U-Haul’s commitment to exceptional service, playing a key part in assisting customers and ensuring the readiness and quality of rental equipment. What You’ll Actually Do
Customer Engagement: Provide comprehensive assistance to customers, both inside and outside the U-Haul center, covering a wide range of U-Haul products and services while educating them on available options.
Rental Management: Operate smartphone-based U-Scan technology to effectively dispatch and return rental equipment, manage inventory, and accurately prepare rental invoices for customers.
Equipment Readiness: Perform essential tasks such as cleaning and inspecting all equipment on the lot, including meticulous checks of fluid levels, to ensure it is in top condition for customer use.
Vehicle Logistics: Skillfully move U-Haul trucks and trailers as needed, including safely hooking them up for customer departure and unhooking upon return.
Specialized Services: Gain certification (provided upon employment) to install hitches and trailer wiring, fill propane tanks, and competently drive a forklift to support various customer and operational needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent, demonstrating a foundational level of education.
• Experience: Hold a valid driver’s license and exhibit the consistent ability to maintain a good driving record, which is crucial for handling U-Haul equipment.
• Skills: A natural ‘people person’ with strong motivation to help others, capable of learning equipment inspection and maintenance, and proficient in using technology for customer assistance and rental management.
