FT Receiver | Food Lion
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Food Lion, located in Hinesville, GA. Since 1957, Food Lion has built a leading grocery retail organization, providing an easy, fresh, and affordable shopping experience to communities across 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states, serving over 10 million customers weekly. This role is vital for ensuring the proper receipt of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products, upholding operational standards, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink. The FT Receiver’s attention to detail and adherence to policy directly contribute to the store’s efficiency and customer satisfaction.

• Mission: Ensure the proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products in accordance with Food Lion policies and procedures to maintain operational standards and minimize shrink.
• Tech Stack: Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS), Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO), computers, cash register, lottery machine (where applicable), scanner, calculator, EDI (for invoices).
What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Service: Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness, prioritizing fast, friendly, and accurate service to create a positive shopping experience for all customers.
• Product Receipt: Protect company assets by accurately receiving and returning DSD products, demonstrating and executing proper vendor receiving policies established by Food Lion.
• Inventory Administration: Account for daily and weekly DSD tickets, beer and wine invoices, ensuring proper filing and checking EDI invoices for any outstanding balances.
• Merchandising Support: Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues such as errors, policy violations, or excessive inventory, and ensure the timely implementation of weekly merchandising notes and accurate DSD plan-o-grams.
• Safety & Compliance: Understand and follow all Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines, observe and correct unsafe conditions, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Foundational understanding of retail operations and inventory processes, with an emphasis on customer service and asset protection.
• Experience: Practical ability to operate company tools such as the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO), coupled with a willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Skills: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills, along with the ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Bonus: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
