Social Media Video Intern | Pure Earth
The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Pure Earth, located in New York, NY, with hybrid flexibility. Pure Earth is an international nonprofit addressing urgent global health crises caused by toxic pollution, specializing in preventing lead and mercury exposure in low- and middle-income countries. This role is crucial for Pure Earth’s communications efforts, producing compelling video content that raises awareness, engages audiences, and advances the mission of protecting vulnerable children and communities worldwide. Your contributions will directly help translate science and innovation into impactful action, transforming lives globally.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Produce and edit short-form video content specifically optimized for social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and LinkedIn.
• Collaborate with the Communications team to conceptualize video ideas and develop storyboards aligned with campaign objectives.
• Incorporate captions, graphics, music, and consistent branding into all video content.
• Monitor video performance metrics across platforms and provide regular reports on reach, engagement, and views.
• Repurpose existing content from webinars, interviews, and reports into engaging social media clips and reels.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate from, a college or university program in communications, film, media production, marketing, or journalism.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in creating and editing video content for social media, evidenced through a personal portfolio, student projects, freelance work, or prior internships.
• Skills: Proficiency in at least one professional video editing tool (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut), strong visual storytelling instincts, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere Pro and After Effects), familiarity with social media management tools, and knowledge of SEO best practices and social media analytics platforms.
