Summer Clinical Research Intern | Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation

The Tone:
This is an internship at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, located in Oklahoma City, OK. OMRF is a respected independent, nonprofit biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding and developing more effective treatments for human diseases. The foundation focuses on critical research areas such as Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and cardiovascular disease. This role offers a motivated individual the chance to contribute to clinical research studies aimed at uncovering the mechanisms of autoimmunity, directly supporting OMRF’s mission.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Flexible full or part-time, Seasonal (June to July)
• Location: In-person, Oklahoma City, OK

• Team: James Lab, within the Arthritis & Clinical Immunology Research Program (ACI)
• Mission: Assist with clinical research studies directed towards understanding the mechanisms of autoimmunity.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Recruit and screen study participants for clinical research studies.
• Conduct clinical research visits with participants.
• Collect study data accurately during research visits.
• Enter collected study data into relevant systems.
• Perform other assigned duties to support the research team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student who has completed junior year of high school, with an interest in clinical research and seeking a degree in biological sciences or a related field.
• Experience: Completed at least 36 hours of science coursework.
• Skills: Strong computer proficiency, excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain meticulous records.
• Bonus: A strong interest in pursuing graduate-level education in the biological sciences or medicine.
