Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2027) | CTGT
The Tone:
This is a Software Engineering Internship at CTGT, located in San Francisco, CA. CTGT builds a deterministic governance layer that enables global institutions to confidently deploy AI workflows by enforcing policy, preventing drift, and producing auditable decisions in real time. The company brings frontier AI intelligence into real-world production environments, applying cutting-edge theory to make large language models more reliable, controllable, and performant. This role offers the opportunity to own and ship a significant project end to end, contributing directly to core systems where governance, auditability, and performance are non-negotiable.
The TL;DR

• Team: Works closely with the core engineering team developing the Policy Engine and its platform.
• Mission: You will own a meaningful piece of work end to end, ship it to a real system, and see it used.
• Tech Stack: Python, JavaScript, Git, AWS, GCP
What You’ll Actually Do
• Build: Build and ship features across the stack, from backend services to product surfaces.
• Write: Write code that holds up under real load, ensuring correctness and clarity.
• Own: Work closely with senior engineers, taking ownership of a project from design through delivery.
• Solve: Dig into ambiguous problems and bring back a clear answer.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience: Strong programming fundamentals and fluency in at least one general purpose language, with exposure to Python and JavaScript. Comfort with Git and basic cloud workflows on AWS or GCP.
• Skills: Ability to write clean code and reason carefully about correctness. Capability to understand entire systems, not just individual components. Clear communication of technical ideas to varied audiences.
• Bonus: Curiosity, self-direction, and the ability to make progress without constant scaffolding.
