Video Production Intern | Fish The West Films
The Tone:
This is an internship at Fish The West Films, offering a hybrid remote and on-location experience across California and the American West. The company is a cinematic fly-fishing documentary series dedicated to telling authentic stories about anglers, guides, conservation, and fisheries. This role is crucial for creating engaging content, helping to grow a media brand from the ground up, and provides a clear path to a potential paid position within the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Editing & Creation: Edit short-form social media content including Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikToks, and Facebook videos.
• Social Media Management: Craft engaging captions and social media posts, assist with content scheduling, publishing, and track content performance.
• Production Support: Assist on fishing and documentary shoots, capture behind-the-scenes footage, and operate cameras and audio equipment.
• Media Organization & Logistics: Help organize media and project files, and support production logistics and shoot preparation.
• Creative Learning & Development: Participate in editing reviews and creative discussions to learn documentary storytelling, content strategy, and audience growth.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Individuals with a strong passion for fishing (fly fishing preferred) and a genuine desire to continuously learn and improve in outdoor media.
• Experience: Basic familiarity with major social media platforms is required, with a preference for prior photography, videography, or social media content creation experience.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong work ethic, a positive attitude, the ability to work independently, reliable transportation, and a willingness to travel occasionally for shoots.
• Bonus: Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, knowledge of fly-fishing culture, techniques, and terminology, or drone experience.
