The Tone:
This is an unpaid, six-month onsite internship at Kaizen Technologies, specifically within the realm of Data Science, located in New Jersey. The company focuses on providing hands-on experience in real-world Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science projects. This role is crucial for developing practical skills in data analytics and building applications powered by Large Language Models in a collaborative environment.

• Mission: This role is focused on developing and implementing AI/ML solutions, analyzing data, and contributing to LLM-based applications through hands-on project work.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prompt Engineering: Develop and optimize prompts for AI and Large Language Model applications, ensuring effective communication with these systems.
• Solution Building: Assist in building robust Machine Learning and Data Science solutions, contributing to various stages of development.
• Data Management: Systematically collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data to derive meaningful insights.
• Reporting & Visualization: Create comprehensive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to present findings clearly.
• Model Support: Support AI model development, testing, and deployment processes, ensuring functionality and performance.
• Research & Collaboration: Conduct research on emerging AI technologies and industry trends, while collaborating with team members on client and internal projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Analytics, Statistics, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Required experience includes academic or practical exposure to AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Generative AI, or Prompt Engineering. For those without a Master’s specialization in these areas, at least one year of relevant professional experience in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Data Analytics is necessary.
• Skills: Demonstrable knowledge of core AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science concepts; proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis; hands-on familiarity with Prompt Engineering and Generative AI tools; understanding of data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn; and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), OpenAI APIs, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), or AI agents. Candidates on Initial OPT who are local to New Jersey and available for onsite work are encouraged to apply.
