What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Participate in the day-to-day work alongside professional employees within an assigned department.
• Research: Contribute to special research projects, studies, surveys, and investigations.
• Analyze: Aid in the compilation, tabulation, and analysis of information and data relevant to departmental operations.
• Prepare: Help in the drafting of briefs, reports, evaluations, specifications, and plans.
• Observe: Attend divisional and departmental staff meetings, preparing reports that include suggestions and comments from observations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in, or recent graduation (within one year) from, a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an accredited college or university, with a major relevant to the specific internship. Knowledge of the goals and functions of the specific assigned profession is required.
• Experience: A minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 is required. Proof of most current unofficial/official transcript with cumulative GPA must be provided at the time of application. All applicants, including alumni, must include a current resume and most recent unofficial/official transcript uploaded as attachments.
• Skills: Ability to follow direction and supervision; capacity to learn rapidly from on-the-job training; logical thinking and clear, concise writing; proficiency in compiling data, performing arithmetical computations, analyzing statistical data, and preparing reports; capability to learn specialized equipment operation; and skill in maintaining cooperative relations with colleagues and the public.
