The Tone:
This is a contract role at Insight Global, located in New York, NY. Insight Global is hiring on behalf of an industry-leading AR/VR technology partner, supporting their data collection efforts. This role is crucial for gathering essential information using cutting-edge AR/VR devices and experimental prototypes, directly contributing to the advancement of future immersive technologies. The position requires a high degree of independence, physical endurance, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in an outdoor setting.

• Mission: Collect critical data using consumer-grade and experimental AR/VR devices to support cutting-edge technology development.
• Tech Stack: PC/Mac usage, G Suite, file explorer, basic codes, iPhone and Android work phone

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Collection: Read, comprehend, and diligently follow specific procedures for data collection activities.
• Device Operation: Operate experimental and consumer-grade AR/VR data collection devices in common public spaces.
• Public Interaction: Answer questions from the public about device operation when necessary, following established guidelines.
• Troubleshooting: Exercise independent judgment for troubleshooting and solving problems that arise during data collection.
• Data Management: Download and utilize software, performing data entry into Google GSuite, and maintaining organized storage.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Demonstrate a strong sense of patience and independent analytical/problem-solving ability.
• Experience: Basic proficiency with PC/Mac systems, including G Suite, program installation, organized storage management in file explorer, and executing basic codes.
• Skills: Clear and concise written and spoken communication for interpersonal interaction; confidence to act under pressure and deadlines; ability to ask questions, make decisions, and exercise independent judgment; willingness and ability to work outdoors daily in Midtown Manhattan in varied weather conditions, with moderate physical capability to walk 8-12 miles per day.
• Bonus: 2+ years of work experience in a team environment; 1+ year of work experience in a technical/computer-oriented field; a lifestyle that includes physical activity in work or leisure; comfort not taking oneself too seriously.
