Sports Marketing Intern | Grind Sports Group
The Tone:
This is a remote internship at Grind Sports Group. Grind Sports Group operates as a sports marketing agency, specializing in empowering college and professional athletes. The agency’s core mission is to help these athletes build a strong personal brand and maximize their earning potential within the evolving Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) landscape. This involves meticulously matching athletes with brands that genuinely align with their identity, interests, and audience, handling everything from initial brand outreach and negotiation to crafting contracts and ensuring seamless campaign execution. This intern role is designed to directly support the agency’s daily marketing operations, providing an immersive, hands-on experience. The position offers unique exposure to the practical application of sports marketing strategy, the nuances of partnership management, and the foundational business aspects of the NIL era.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Outreach: Assist directly with athlete and brand outreach initiatives, identifying potential partners and initiating contact to foster new relationships for Grind Sports Group.
• Communication: Actively maintain clear and consistent communication with both current athletes, brands, and prospective partners, ensuring all parties are informed and engaged throughout the partnership lifecycle.
• Campaigns: Provide comprehensive support for various NIL campaigns and events, contributing to their successful planning, execution, and overall management.
• Tracking: Methodically track deliverables and performance metrics for ongoing campaigns and partnerships, gathering data to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.
• Strategy: Contribute valuable ideas and insights for new brand partnerships, actively participating in brainstorming sessions to identify new opportunities that align with athlete profiles and brand objectives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sport Management, Business, Communications, or a closely related field, demonstrating foundational academic interest in the industry.
• Experience: Possesses familiarity with the principles and practical application of social media and influencer marketing; comfortable using common productivity tools such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office suite.
• Skills: Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with athletes, brands, and internal team members; highly organized with meticulous attention to detail in managing tasks and information; demonstrates a self-starter mentality, taking initiative, and works collaboratively as part of a team.
• Bonus: Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is an advantage.
