Crossconnect Engineering is an engineering-led firm with a 15-year track record of assisting organizations across the U.S. in designing, securing, and optimizing their critical network infrastructure. The Business Development Representative role is essential for expanding our client base by proactively identifying new prospects, scheduling qualified appointments, and laying the groundwork for new sales opportunities, acting as a direct on-ramp to a lucrative career in technology sales.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Identify target accounts and key decision-makers within those organizations.
• Prospecting: Engage potential clients through phone calls, email campaigns, and LinkedIn to schedule meetings.
• Qualification: Assess prospect needs and qualify leads, then set appointments for the sales and engineering teams.
• Support: Assist in developing proposals, conducting assessments, and organizing events to build the sales pipeline.
• CRM Management: Accurately maintain activities and opportunities within the GlassHive CRM system.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level or junior sales role with a clear growth path, focusing on initiating conversations around complex network infrastructure and cybersecurity challenges. Candidates should be eager to understand and articulate how technological gaps relate to operational or financial risks for mid-sized and enterprise clients.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of sales experience is required; strong candidates newer to sales but eager to learn are seriously considered.
• Skills: Possesses the ability to conduct meaningful initial conversations that bridge technical network infrastructure pain points to broader business liabilities, capturing the attention of skeptical IT directors. Displays genuine curiosity and an interest in technology, networking, and cybersecurity, enabling the cultivation of champions within prospect organizations. Exhibits polite persistence through disciplined multi-touch communication cadences across phone, email, and LinkedIn, knowing when to adapt messages or stakeholders. Is social and excited by the prospect of attending tradeshows and events, genuinely enjoying working the room to prospect effectively. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, coachability, and a proactive approach to learning new sales tools, including AI.
• Bonus: Prior experience of 1 or more years in B2B sales, inside sales, or business development is a plus, showcasing an existing foundation in sales principles.
