What You’ll Actually Do
• Customs Flow: Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow, interpreting Desk Level Operating Procedures to fulfill customer instructions and expectations effectively.
• Data Accuracy: Perform accurate and timely data entry into the company’s operational system, transferring customs declaration information from various sources for valid declaration builds.
• File Management: Track and trace custom files and manage reporting activities to maintain organized and accessible records.
• Client Billing: Ensure accurate and timely billing for all clients, contributing to efficient financial operations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Assist with the verification and submission of customs declarations to the customs authority, ensuring strict compliance at all times to all relevant regulations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a good knowledge of the customs brokerage process and relevant customs legislation, with a particular emphasis on classification, valuation, and origin principles. Additionally, an understanding of the documentation processes specific to ocean, road, and air freight is essential for this role.
• Experience: While no specific years of experience are required, candidates must demonstrate good computer skills, including proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word, for data entry and reporting tasks within our operational systems.
• Skills: Possess effective interpersonal skills for communication with clients and colleagues, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong organizational skills are crucial for managing custom files and reporting, along with fluency in English.
