Human Resources Intern, NOG-B (Year-Round) | BWXT
The Tone:
This is a year-round, on-site internship at BWXT, located in Barberton, OH. BWXT is a U.S.-based Fortune 1000 and Defense News Top 100 manufacturing and engineering innovator that provides safe and effective nuclear solutions for global security, clean energy, environmental restoration, nuclear medicine, and space exploration. This role supports the employee-facing side of Human Resources, assisting with daily inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and helping deliver important onboarding and engagement experiences, contributing to smooth HR operations.
The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to the local HR Manager
• Mission: To support HR operations, maintain accurate records, and contribute to positive employee experiences within a manufacturing plant setting.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office applications, HRIS (Human Resources Information System), applicant tracking system software
What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Management: Maintain accurate employee data by updating internal systems and databases.
• Reporting: Generate reports using HR tools to support informed business decisions.
• Onboarding: Facilitate welcoming experiences for new hires through onboarding activities.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance by accurately completing and maintaining I-9 documentation.
• Operations Support: Support smooth daily operations by assisting with timekeeping and recruiting activities, including local job fairs.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current student working toward an undergraduate degree in human resource management or a closely related field. Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Experience: Ability to handle and work with confidential information within defined requirements.
• Skills: Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; effective verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.
• Bonus: Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with U.S. labor laws; familiarity with HRIS and applicant tracking system software.
