Research Scientist Intern- (Trust and Safety – CV/NLP/Multimodal LLM) – 2026 Start(PhD) | TikTok

The Tone:
This is a PhD internship at TikTok, located in a selected city, potentially Los Angeles County. This role is crucial for developing advanced models and algorithms within the Trust and Safety team, which protects the platform and users from content that violates community guidelines. What You’ll Actually Do
• Model Development: Develop computer vision or multimodality models to accurately recognize violating content on TikTok.
• Model Exploration: Explore cutting-edge multimodal or computer vision large models such as CLIP, COCA, ALBEF, BLIP, Flamingo, ViT-G, ViT-22B, and EVA-enormous.
• LLM Application: Explore the application of Large Language Models (LLM) in business scenarios, including pre-training, zero-shot/few-shot learning, and hard case mining.
• Framework Optimization: Continuously optimize the training framework to better adapt to the training requirements of large models.

The Must-Haves
• Background: PhD candidate in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Related research experience in at least one of the following areas: computer vision, multimodality, or LLM.
• Skills: Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow); excellent analytical, problem-solving, logical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bonus: Published papers in top AI conferences or journals, including CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, TPAMI, IJCV.
