Project Employee, Workflow Development | National Basketball Association (NBA)

The Tone:
This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed ten months, offering a hybrid work option with one remote day per week for eligible employees, located in Secaucus, NJ. The National Basketball Association is a global sports and media organization dedicated to inspiring and connecting people through basketball. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of current project workflows, while also supporting the implementation of spreadsheet-based tools used for data management and analysis across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Workflow Management: Monitor, maintain, and improve current project workflows to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Data Handling: Perform data entry and cleanup across various projects to uphold data integrity.
• Tool Creation: Create project management workspaces utilizing Google Sheets and Google Apps Script to streamline operations.
• Issue Resolution: Help fix spreadsheet issues and proactively work to reduce the likelihood of further problems.
• Reporting & Visualization: Create concise reports and visual graphics from complex datasets to inform decision-making.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree is required, along with a superior level of basketball and historical knowledge.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with functions, data structures, and data analysis; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is essential.
• Skills: Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity; attention to detail, strong organizational and multitasking skills; highly responsive and proactive, able to own tasks from start to finish; excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as active listening skills.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Google Apps Script, Python, VBA, JavaScript, or other programming skills; a general understanding of GUIs, web apps, web scraping, and APIs; comfort with automation tools such as DocParser, Zapier, and Automate.io.
