Merchandising & Retail Intern – Fall 2026 | Pacers Sports & Entertainment

The Tone:
This is an internship at Pacers Sports & Entertainment, located in Indianapolis, IN. The organization focuses on sports and entertainment, providing fans with memorable experiences. This role is crucial for an individual eager to learn and actively contribute to the daily operations of our retail and merchandising functions. It offers comprehensive exposure to the intricacies of running a successful sports retail business.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time (approximately 30 – 40 hours per week)
• Location: In-person, Indianapolis, IN

• Mission: This intern will learn and actively participate in all aspects of the day-to-day retail operations for Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Exposure: Gain overall exposure to all aspects of merchandising and retail operations, including daily team store functions, product management, finance, digital operations, information technology, and data analysis.
• Store Management: Work closely with team store management to learn daily store operations, encompassing opening/closing procedures, visual merchandising, product replenishment, and delivering fan and guest services.
• Warehouse Participation: Participate in warehouse operations, assisting with e-commerce processes, customer inquiries, order fulfillment, receiving, and inventory control.
• Event Support: Participate in game and event day operations, including assisting with set-up activities.
• Schedule Flexibility: Be available to work some holidays, nights, and weekends as required by operational needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a college or university program as a junior, senior, or graduate student, with a strong interest in retail, merchandising, e-commerce, business, or marketing.
• Experience: Proficiency with strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and multi-tasking abilities; a strong work ethic; a customer-focused attitude; and the ability to thrive as a team player in a demanding environment.
