Software Engineer Intern (Ads Measurement Signal and Privacy) – 2026 Summer (BS/MS) | TikTok

The Tone:
This is a 12-week onsite internship at TikTok, located in Los Angeles, CA. TikTok is a leading destination for short-form mobile video, inspiring creativity and bringing joy to its global community. This role is crucial for building the security and governance infrastructure of the ads system, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and protecting user privacy through cutting-edge technologies. The intern will play a key role in data privacy, protection, and security within the ads ecosystem.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build products to manage signal integration, provide insights, and handle third-party data partner integrations using in-house TikTok solutions.
• Design, construct, and maintain scalable technical foundations for efficient data collection and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with product, data science, UX, and compliance teams to continually enhance comprehensive measurement capabilities.
• Lead the development of products and processes designed to address urgent business requirements effectively.
• Identify, explore, and implement advanced measurement technologies to improve platform functionality.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Must be able to commit to a 12-week onsite work period starting in Summer 2026; no prior professional experience specified as minimum.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms; proficiency in at least one coding language such as Go, Javascript, Java, or C++; excellent communication and teamwork skills; strong ownership and ability to work under pressure; curiosity towards new technologies and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Working experience in the advertising domain; experience with measurement technologies like Web/App tracking, SKAN, PCM, MMP, or Privacy Sandbox, with specific production practices preferred.
