Full-Time Internship – Customs Brokerage | Expeditors

This is a full-time internship at Expeditors, located in Torrance, CA. • Mission: To learn the processes, terminology, and skills required for successful customs brokerage operations while assisting with essential administrative and support tasks.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Scan and accurately index various customs-related documents.
• Shipment Monitoring: Track and trace the status and location of international shipments.
• Document Review: Assist customer service representatives by reviewing commercial documents against customer instructions.
• Data Verification: Support customer service representatives in verifying customs declaration information for accuracy.
• Data Entry: Ensure accurate and timely data entry into Expeditors’ Customs entry system.
• Compliance: Uphold compliance with all government regulations and company policies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student who has completed a High School Degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Available for 3-4 months, able to work 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm) with potential overtime, and legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring future employment visa sponsorship.
• Skills: Fluent in English (both written and verbal); strong organizational skills with an analytical and detail-oriented approach; good computer skills (Word, Excel, familiarity with PowerPoint) and basic mathematical proficiency.
• Bonus: Associate’s or Undergraduate Degree preferred; familiarity with 10-key usage; demonstrated pro-active thinking and action; effective interpersonal communication skills; proven ability and desire to learn new software and technologies.
