Marketing Intern – AI/ML | Inception
The Tone:
This is an internship at Inception, located in Palo Alto, CA. Inception creates the world’s fastest, most efficient AI models, specifically pioneering diffusion-based LLMs like Mercury which deliver 5x greater speed and efficiency than today’s LLMs with best-in-class quality. The company is built by the AI researchers and engineers behind breakthrough technologies such as diffusion models, flash attention, and DPO. This role offers significant ownership from day one, allowing the intern to directly shape Inception’s public voice and social presence across key platforms. You will work directly with the Head of Marketing and founding team, defining how the world understands a new, category-defining AI technology.

• Mission: Own Inception’s voice and real-time engagement across X, LinkedIn, Discord, Hacker News, and Reddit to promote breakthrough AI models and research.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Curate: Write and publish social content for Inception’s X and LinkedIn accounts, ensuring a consistent and respected company voice.
• Engage: Monitor AI/ML conversation in real-time, responding to mentions, joining relevant threads, and identifying engagement opportunities for the team.
• Launch: Execute the social media playbook for major company milestones including product launches, partnership announcements, benchmark results, and industry events like GTC, NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR.
• Create: Produce short-form video content such as launch demos, speed comparisons, developer testimonials, and technical explainers to showcase Inception’s technology.
• Community: Actively engage with the developer community on platforms like Discord, Hacker News, and Reddit, fostering discussion and sharing updates.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently a student (undergraduate or graduate) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Management Science & Engineering, Communication, or a closely related field. Select recent graduates are also considered. You possess a conceptual understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) function and can participate in technical discussions about them.
• Experience: Active engagement across social media platforms, particularly a strong familiarity with “AI Twitter” and key figures like Andrej Karpathy, Swyx, Jim Fan, Andrew Ng, and Artificial Analysis. You have demonstrated experience in creating content for an audience, evidenced by personal projects like an X account, newsletter, podcast, YouTube channel, or campus publication. You also hold informed opinions on the social presence of various AI labs.
• Skills: Exceptional writing ability with strong voice control, capable of crafting both technical threads that resonate with developers and Fortune 500 enterprises, and punchy launch posts for broad engagement. You are a proactive operator who makes real-time editorial decisions, monitors discussions, engages with developers, and activates internal teams during critical moments like product launches.
• Bonus: Proven video and visual creation skills, particularly for developing short-form content such as demos, speed comparisons, or technical explainers.
