The company manages over 1,000 cafés for corporations, universities, and museums, alongside several public restaurants, and is recognized for leading the industry in socially and environmentally responsible sourcing, including sustainable seafood and cage-free eggs. Bon Appétit prepares all food from scratch using fresh, local ingredients. This Barista position is integral to maintaining the company’s high standards by crafting quality beverages, ensuring food safety, and providing excellent customer service, contributing directly to a positive guest experience.

• Mission: Makes and serves coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items, handles food according to HACCP guidelines, and interacts with customers in a friendly, courteous manner.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Beverage Preparation: Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering following standard measures and recipes.
• Transaction Processing: Process customer orders and payments accurately using POS devices for cash and charge transactions.
• Service Area Maintenance: Maintain the service area by replenishing condiments, beverages, and general supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness.
• Food Safety & Presentation: Ensure proper food presentation, portion control, and maintenance of correct serving temperatures in adherence to HACCP standards.
• Customer Engagement: Provide excellent customer service by courteously greeting customers, efficiently serving orders, accurately explaining menu items, and addressing concerns to ensure satisfaction.

• Background: This is an entry-level professional role focused on food service operations and barista duties, requiring no prior experience. Candidates should be ready to learn and uphold company standards for quality and customer interaction.
• Experience: No previous experience is required for this position.
• Skills: Adherence to HACCP guidelines for food handling and safety; proficiency in preparing espresso orders to specific recipes; accurate operation of POS devices for order entry and payment processing; strong customer service, including courteous interaction and efficient service delivery; ability to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all equipment and workstations.
