Toxicology Analytics Intern | Acutis Diagnostics

The Tone:
This is an internship at Acutis Diagnostics. Acutis Diagnostics enhances a Toxicology Population Health Reporting platform that identifies emerging substance use trends, co-use patterns, abnormal testing behaviors, and population-level risk indicators through the analysis of toxicology laboratory data. This role is crucial for an intern to gain hands-on exposure to real-world healthcare analytics, laboratory medicine, and population health intelligence. What You’ll Actually Do
• Report and Dashboard Enhancement: Assist in the enhancement and optimization of toxicology population health reports and dashboards to improve their effectiveness and utility for various stakeholders.
• Substance Use Trend Analysis: Analyze toxicology testing data to identify emerging substance use trends, recognize new drug patterns, discern co-use relationships, and pinpoint regional or demographic tendencies.
• Anomaly Identification: Identify inconsistencies or anomalies within patient testing behavior by conducting detailed analysis of toxicology laboratory data.
• Emerging Substance Research: Conduct focused research on emerging substances, new drug classes, and critical toxicology trends that significantly impact healthcare populations and treatment approaches.
• Clinical Insight Development: Support the development of meaningful clinical insights and create comprehensive reporting narratives tailored for healthcare providers and treatment organizations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Forensic Science, Toxicology, Public Health, Clinical Laboratory Science, Data Analytics, Epidemiology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Experience: No specific prior work experience required; the role is designed to offer hands-on exposure to real-world healthcare analytics, laboratory medicine, substance use monitoring, and population health intelligence.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, and an aptitude for identifying patterns and trends in scientific or healthcare contexts.
