The Tone:
This is an 8-12+ month contract-to-hire role at Daley And Associates, LLC, located in Boston, MA. Daley And Associates, LLC is a highly successful Investment Management firm. This entry-level position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on back-middle office experience within a top-tier investment management environment. The role is critical for supporting the firm’s operations by ensuring the accurate monitoring and reconciliation of client portfolio assets, contributing directly to client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Thoroughly examine monthly fixed income portfolio asset reports for various client accounts, identifying any discrepancies or issues to ensure accuracy.
• Reconcile: Execute daily and monthly asset and cash reconciliations with custodian banks, ensuring all records align and promptly addressing any variances discovered.
• Monitor: Oversee critical financial flows, including daily expenses, collateral holdings, and income receivables, across client portfolios to maintain financial health and compliance.
• Research & Report: Investigate and document variances, incorrect holdings, and other account issues, maintaining active correspondence with banks to resolve problems and accurately monitor futures, options, and swaps within client portfolios.
• Support: Provide essential additional operational support as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency and responsiveness of the investment operations team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, specifically in Finance or Economics, to ensure a foundational understanding of investment principles and market dynamics.
• Experience: Requires 0-1 years of professional experience, which can include relevant internships, demonstrating practical exposure to financial operations or analysis.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like V-Lookups and Pivot-Tables, is essential. Additionally, candidates must exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
• Bonus: A GPA above 3.0 is highly preferred, alongside a demonstrated interest in investment operations. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, coupled with a detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager-to-learn disposition.
